ABOUT DR. REIDDr.
Richard Reid received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell
University in 1992. After graduating, he joined a progressive small
animal hospital in the Buffalo are for one year before completing
his internship and residency in small animal internal medicine at
Michigan State University. While a resident, Dr. Reid was director
of the canine and feline blood donor program and was active in
ongoing research that attempts to identify familial cancers in
purebred dogs. During his residency, Dr. Reid was fortunate to be an
initial member of the Comparative Urology and Nephrology Group, a
group that performs kidney transplants in cats. Although
well-trained in all areas of internal medicine, Dr. Reid's primary
interests include immune-mediated and bone marrow diseases as well
as kidney, gastrointestinal, and liver diseases. Dr. Reid was the
primary internal medicine clinician at Long Island Veterinary
Specialists for 2 years. He is an exceptional ultrasonographer and
is currently practicing "on the road" with Mobile Veterinary
Ultrasound & Endoscopy. He visits your veterinarians and provides
specialized services and consultations at their clinics.
