She then went on to complete her internship and residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University in 1995, achieving Diplomate status in 1996. Dr. Pawlusiow is a member of the Veterinary Honor Society of Phi Zeta, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Society, the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association and the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Pawlusiow also has a Masters Degree in Veterinary Clinical Science – Toxicology from LSU, her thesis research focusing on the effects of heavy metals (lead) in the American alligator in the bayous and estuaries of Southeast Louisiana (and successfully managed to complete her research possessing all of her fingers and only a few small scars!). In addition to her hospital responsibilities, Dr. Pawlusiow works as a mobile Internal Medicine Specialist providing consultative and diagnostic services in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. She is founder and owner of Advanced Veterinary Mobile Diagnostics, P.C. An avid hiker and outdoor photographer, Dr. Pawlusiow carries her camera with her along with her ultrasound unit and endoscopes on her daily travels so as not to miss a great nature photo-op!
